Balancing Your Life using Mother Nature- Part 2/6

If you sat outside once this past week for 20 minutes, how did it go? What did you notice? Learn? How did you feel? Outside is the place (in my humble opinion) where we best connect to ourselves, our truths. What’s important to us, what’s working in our lives, and what isn’t. Spending time regularly in nature helps to keep us balanced because we get to really see what’s there. Outside and inside. 

I often tell people, the more time you spend outside, the more you recognize your priorities for your life. It makes dropping what isn’t right for you a little easier. And balance, for most of us, is about saying no more often. We simply cannot be all things to all people all the time. 

So let’s jump right into balancing your life using Mother Nature. If you missed the introduction last post, you can catch it here.

Starting in the East, every day, the sun rises. It’s a new day, a new beginning. Humans awaken, birds start singing, and plants lean towards the sun. 

The season that parallels this new start of the day is Spring. With its new life, green growth, inspiration, enthusiasm and inspiration. In the early stages of your life, everything was filled with possibility. The world was wide open.

Now no matter what stage of life you are in, each new day can be a rebirth. A new beginning within the cycle.

The energy of the East, the beginning of the day, the Spring, is renewal, fresh possibilities, excitement and inspiration. 

If this is the time of day you find you have the most energy in your life, this is when you want to use that to your benefit. Is your mind most clear earlier in the morning? Then that’s a good time to tackle things that require brain power. Or is it your body that is more full of energy at that time of day? Then maybe that’s the best time to use it physically, whether that be a workout, gardening, however it’s needed.

Start to notice how you feel when you awake. What is your overall energy like? Is what you do based on what your body is feeling and needing versus what your mind says you should be doing?

Start writing down notes to follow what shows up for you. What little shift can you make that seems to flow more along with your natural energy earlier in the day? Just one shift you make on a consistent basis can make a huge difference.
