Endings and Beginnings

Sometimes when things end, it’s hard. Mainly because we don’t want something to end. Like a really good vacation, for example.

Sometimes when things end, we are so so ready for that to happen. Like when you’ve had the flu and you cannot wait for it to be over and to feel good again.

Sometimes we want endings and sometimes we don’t. Part of life right?

And then there are beginnings.

Beginnings always feel ripe with possibility to me. When you are starting something new, you just don’t know what’s going to happen or how it’s going to turn out. But the best part about beginnings I think is that our mind hasn’t gunked up the possibilities with negatives and what could go wrong. It’s one of the best places to be in mentally.

This may sound trivial but my old website is gone from the internet. A couple of months back when an upgrade took place it wiped out all of the background and colors. While it kept the content (words) the “feel” of it was gone. This was en ending for sure. I didn’t ask for it or want it, but it came.

The universe had other plans for me. I know this because I was quite upset initially about this. And recovering the look was going to expensive and not worth it. It became clear very quickly that it was time to create something new, a beginning.

I have to tell you, this beginning space, is my favorite mental space to be in. I love possibilities. They are so endless. I had no idea what my new website and newsletter would look and feel like but it has slowly emerged as I’ve worked on it. Yes it has been challenging. Yes, things have taken much longer than expected and hoped, and yes, things have not worked correctly right off the bat, but it has been worth it.

It was an ending I didn’t want or expect, but then again, we are all creative beings in some way, shape, or form. I got to create an internet home that speaks to me, and hopefully to you as well.

Some endings are just what we need.

Do you find yourself in the space of ending or beginning something?
