Do you know what one of my favorite parts about being a life coach is?
I get to ask a lot of questions.
What’s so great about asking questions?
The answers to those questions are found inside of you.
I absolutely adore asking my clients questions. It’s how they find out what is true for their life.
Sometimes the questions seem meaningless, like, “What do you do for fun?”, or “If you could live in a different city, where would it be?”
Sometimes the questions seem deeper, like, “ If you could change one aspect of your life, what would that be?”, or ”What ’s the one thing that makes you so mad about what you see in the world that you would donate your time, money, or both to trying to change it?”.
Here’s the most interesting part. All of the questions are important. The ones that seem simple and the ones that seem deeper are equally insightful into what’s important to you. Every question you answer honestly comes from your truthful self.
There’s just something about having another person who is there to ask you questions about your life, especially ones you weren’t expecting, that helps to open up the creative side of your brain. Which is incredibly important when you’re looking for answers that resonate with you.
Yes we can ask questions of yourself. And I do love a great magazine article where questions are asked and you can either ponder them or sit down with your own pen and paper and write down what comes up for you. And if you can find someone who is able to really hear you and ask amazing questions to get to the heart of what’s true for you, that’s gold.
Not every question can be answered right away. Sometimes you have to let things percolate for a while. Answers usually surface either when you’re ready or when it’s the right time. The universe definitely works in its own time frame, not always yours.
What questions do you need to be asking yourself to get to what’s true for you?
Please share if you know just the perfect person who needs this.
