What’s so great about doing nothing?

Let me tell you… EVERYTHING!

We live in a go go go society with a must be producing all the time attitude.  This is killing us. Why? Because human beings aren’t meant to produce 24/7. There’s a reason it gets dark at night. We need to sleep in order to rejuvenate for the next day. It’s in our basic make-up. How productive are exhausted and burnt out people? Not very.

Doing nothing at times is the antidote to doing everything all the time.

Every up needs a down.

Every on needs an off.

What makes up “doing nothing”?

You get to decide.  Anything that when you are finished helps you feel more relaxed, less tense, more rested, or rejuvenated. You have a sense of “aaaahhhhh”.

It could be:

  • napping
  • reading
  • watching nature
  • taking a walk
  • watching a movie
  • meditating
  • getting a massage
  • going out to eat
  • goofing off with friends
  • Add your own "do nothing" thing

This is a short list but you get the point.

You need balance. 

Doing nothing can get you there.
