I don’t like being all that busy. I don’t enjoy a to-do list a mile long. I hate having every second of every day filled with something to do. I don’t look forward to rushing from one thing to the next to get it all done. Because of this, I’m actually not that busy.
Sure I have to-do lists. I have a life coaching business. I also have a part-time job. I have two dogs to take care of. A house that needs attention. A husband who needs love. Me, who needs care.
Busy is a choice.
How do I know this? Because I used to be busy all the time. I ran around with my head cut off like a chicken trying to get shit done. And guess what. Some days it got done, some days it didn’t. Either way, I felt stress all the time.
Now, I don’t feel stressed about that very often.
How did I change that?
I stopped trying to do it all. And all in one day. I prioritized. What really needed to get done that day got done. If something extra got completed, it was icing on the cake. If not, more down time.
That to-do list will be there in some form for the rest of your life. Why not choose a better way to get through it by only focusing on what’s important at the time, on that day. If something never moves to the top of the list, maybe it’s just not that important. :)
