You are one thought away from a healthier you

Here I am again reading yet another book about how we each have the control to create a better life for ourselves. In his book, The Biology of Belief, Bruce Lipton, PH.D., a cell biologist, talks about his findings after decades of researching our individual cells and what creates health in the human body.

His book makes cellular biology understandable for the layperson like me. I won’t go into all of the details, but the implication is awesome as to how what we think about each day and believe at our deepest level, affects the health of every cell of our body, therefore the health of our life.

He has shown through research that the DNA of a cell is not it’s brain, as we all have been taught. The membrane of a cell is it’s brain.

What this means for you and me is that our genes are not our destiny. Think about it this way. Some people have the gene for cancer in their DNA and get it, some don’t. Why does this happen?

The environment.

A gene that is already a part of a person’s DNA cannot be activated unless it is stimulated in some way. That way is through the environment. That includes the foods you eat, the exercise you get or don’t, whether you smoke, consume alcohol, the list goes on. This is not news to most of us.

When a toxin is introduced into the environment of a cell, it moves away from it and tries to protect itself. Often when people are in a negative situation in their life, they want to move away from it to protect themselves.

When something positive comes into the environment of a cell, it moves towards it, to grow. We people do the same. Think of sunshine.

Basically, when we are in loving healthy environments we grow.

In toxic, unhealthy environments, we feel the need to protect ourselves and the stress response kicks in. There is a massive amount of research about how stress affects every system in our body and over time leads to chronic illness and even death. No organism, whether single-celled, or multi-trillion celled can live in a continuous stressful environment.

But here is where it goes deeper.

In the quantum physics realm, everything on the planet is all a form of energy. Our bodies, the trees, animals, water, buildings, plastic, everything. All energy forms vibrate a certain frequency. Even our thoughts and emotions are a form of energy and vibrate at a certain frequency.

Here is where our power comes in. YOUR power comes in.

Every thought you think vibrates at a certain frequency. It is either love to your cells or a toxin. Thoughts, the mind’s energy, directly influence how the physical brain controls the body’s physiology. That energy gets transmitted to every cell of your body. Every thought you think every day can affect every cell of your body positively or negatively.

A huge key in all of this is that our conscious mind, our free will to make choices, only runs the show of our lives about 5% of the time.

We think we are running our lives with goals, aspirations, and desires but when we struggle or don’t obtain our goals; we generally conclude that we are victims of outside forces preventing us from getting what we want.

But it’s actually the subconscious mind that rules the show 95% of the time and we don’t even realize it. These are the programs we got during our childhood from our parents, teachers, and community. Our lives today are basically a printout from the beliefs we have carried around for decades.

So if you have a goal to start a business for example (conscious mind) but you have an underlying belief that you will struggle for years before your bottom line is in the black (sub-conscious mind), then the idea of struggle is the energy you are feeding every cell in your body. Conversely, if your underlying belief is that I can make this happen, then that is the energy your cells are receiving. Which belief do you think your cells will thrive better with?

This is one reason I spend so much time coaching my clients around their thoughts and core beliefs.

Whatever they say they want to have in their lives consciously, very often there is a limiting belief behind it in their subconscious mind that is blocking them from getting what they really want. They are literally creating their own health and lives from within and may not even realize it. Beliefs that limit you can be changed. But you have to know you have them then bring them into the light of day where they can receive love.

When you realize you have that much power and control over your own health and destiny, you can move mountains.

You can live a life of fear, or live a life of love. You have the choice. If you choose to see a world full of love, your body will respond by growing in health. If you choose to believe you live in a dark world full of fear, your body’s health will be compromised as it closes down in a protection response.

Learning how to harness your mind to promote growth is the secret of life according to Dr. Lipton.

If you go through life wearing the proverbial rose-colored glasses, your cells with thrive. And so will your life.

Your beliefs become your thoughts

Your thoughts become your words

Your words become your actions

Your actions become your habits

Your habits become your values

Your values become your destiny.
